The device sees those shifts and can read them as poor recovery. You feel foggy and assume the number confirms a deficiency to fix. What shift work actually does to the clock

The suprachiasmatic nucleus, the brain's master clock, is set primarily by light. Working and eating during your biological night, then sleeping during the day, pushes your central clock and your peripheral clocks (in the gut, liver, and elsewhere) out of sync with each other and with the sun [2]. Why the fog often is not a vitamin problem (and how you'd actually know)

You already ran the obvious experiment: over-the-counter B-vitamin pills, no difference. Reading your wearable data honestly

You do not have to abandon the ring. You have to demote it from judge to witness. A more useful way to use it as a night worker:

  • Treat trends across similar days as the signal, not any single day's score.
